Holy Week Schedule (3/20)

Holy-WeekSunday, March 24: Palm Sunday (normal Mass times). Please take a palm frond with you as you enter the doors of the churches.

Monday, March 25: Chrism Mass – Parishioners are cordially invited to St. Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield for this 7pm Mass of the Sacred Chrism. You will join Bishop McDonnell to celebrate the blessing of the Oil of Catechumens, the Oleum Infirmorum (the oil for anointing the sick) and the consecratration of the Sacred Chrism, used for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders. This is a very inspiring celebration as the Diocesan family gathers with its Chief Shepherd expressing a great solidarity and mutual love as brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Thursday, March 28: Holy Thursday – We will be conducting our Food Drive to support the food banks, and will also be blessing bread and wine for your home and the parish at this 7pm Mass.

Friday, March 29: Good Friday – this year, we will be celebrating the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion at the 3pm Mass.  The Holy Land Collection will be taken up.  RE Students will dramatize the Passion.  At 7pm, the Solemn Stations of the Cross/Divine Mercy Novena & Chaplet will be conducted at Saint Joseph Church.

Saturday, March 30: Easter Vigil – This inspiring Mass is held in a darkened Church at 8pm at Saint Joseph, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.  Our Easter Collection will be taken up during this Mass, as well as on Easter Sunday.  There are no Masses at the Mission Churches this weekend!

Sunday, March 31: EASTER – Masses will be at 8am & 10:30am, as usual, at Saint Joseph Church.  The Easter Collection will be taken up during the Masses.
