Sunday Mass Obligation (2/9)

***SNOWSTORM MASS OBLIGATIONS***

The Diocese of Springfield urges all Catholics to heed travel advisories and restrictions as indicated by local and state officials, including staying off roads and allowing for emergency and plowing operations. The faithful are encouraged to use good judgement when planning to travel to Mass. Catholics are reminded that the obligation to attend Mass does not apply when there is grave difficulty in fulfilling that obligation. (Canon Law 1248 s, 2)

Finally we ask all our faithful to prayerfully remember and give thanks for those law enforcement, safety, plowing and medical personnel whose duties require that they work throughout the storm.
